10 Tech Tools to Implement in Your Spa's Treatments

Today’s face and body devices feature some of the best technology to offer clients an enhanced experience. Here are some of the most innovative features found in devices today:

  • DYNAMIC IONIZATION: Guinot’s Hydraderm Vital Energy machine features a patented dynamic ionization method that utilizes roller electrodes that automatically switch between positive and negative polarity throughout the treatment. This eliminates the need for estheticians to switch hands.

  • LED LIGHT THERAPY LED: treatments can help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; reduce the appearance of dark spots, sun damage, and stretch marks; and improve the overall look of skin. The Celluma Delux, for example, is a portable device that offers head-to-toe LED therapy by emitting blue, red, and near-infrared wavelengths to help treat acne, wrinkles, arthritic pain, joint pain and stiffness, and muscle tension and spasms.

  • MICROCURRENT: Often referred to as a natural facelift, microcurrent works by emitting low-voltage electrical currents to the skin. The NuFace Trinity Facial Toning Device, for example, is an at-home machine that stimulates the larger surface areas of the face and neck with gentle microcurrent to help contour, tone, and fi rm aging skin and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  • MULTIWAVE TECHNOLOGY: Patented by LightStim, MultiWave technology simultaneously emits multiple wavelengths (colors) of light that work together to give skin a more radiant and youthful appearance. This technology is found in the LightStim LED Bed, which is a full-body low-level light therapy that holds more than 18,000 custom-designed LEDs contained in 30 individual modules designed to monitor and adjust heat on a millisecond by millisecond basis for even and consistent temperature and enhanced blood fl ow throughout the body. This helps clients relax, relieve joint and muscle pain and tension, improve overall blood circulation, and enhance physical performance.

  • OXYGENATION: The Oxygeneo Gene0+ oxygenates the skin by first exfoliating the epidermis, preparing the skin to receive active nutrients. Then, it deep cleans the skin while creating a chemical reaction that produces C02-rich bubbles that gently burst on the skin’s surface, infusing essential nutrients and antioxidants deep into the skin.

  • PERCUSSIVE THERAPY: This technique provides rapid bursts of pressure into the body tissues to help relieve muscle tension, improve range of motion, accelerate recovery, and improve muscle coordination. The Theragun G3 utilizes percussive therapy to offer whole-body healing, tension relief, recovery, and performance enhancement.

  • QUIET GLIDE TECHNOLOGY: The Hyperice Hypervolt, another percussive therapy device, features the patented Quiet Glide technology that allows the device to be powerful while generating minimal noise so users can take it anywhere to help relieve pain, stiffness, and soreness while increasing range of motion.

  • RADIO FREQUENCY: Radio frequency energy uses thermal energy to help stimulate the superficial skin layers and improve the appearance of firmness. The Repêchage LED Radio Frequency and EMS Skin Tightening Machine helps to increase hydration and moisturization; reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; temporarily tighten and lighten the appearance of the skin; and reduce the appearance of dark spots and oiliness.

  • RHYTHMIC TAP PULSATIONS: Rhythmic Tap Pulsations help to enhance product application and penetration. This is just one feature found in the Zoe Plus device, which also includes moisture sensors that determine moisture levels in the skin and analyze the skin’s health, 15 smart sonic settings, and stronger low-frequency pulsations to enhance circulation.

  • VORTEX-FUSION TECHNOLOGY: The HydraFacial device exfoliates, extracts, and hydrates skin. It features vortex-fusion vacuum technology, which creates a vortex effect to easily dislodge and remove impurities.
