Spas are more than just places for treatments, they're often places associated with romance. Whether a client received a treatment as a gift from a loved one, or your client is bringing their partner in for a couples treatment, spas have become synonymous with happiness, romance, relaxation, and more. To celebrate one of the busiest days in the spa industry, we took at look at how six spas are spending Valentine's Day this year.
Haitus Spa + Retreat (multiple locations): The Texas spa chain is offering a number of customizable retreats just in time for Valentine's Day this year, including The Greatest Love of All treatment ($179, 2 hours), where guests can invest in themselves with a tailor made facial and signature massage; The Unforgettable ($349, 4 hours) featuring a customized Yours, Truly massage, The One & Only mani pedi, and The Honey Dew Facial; and The Sweetheart Retreat ($325 per couple, 75 minutes) which begins with a crushed rose petal and organic sugar foot soak before relaxing side by side in a couples massage with a house-blend love lotion of rose, jasmine, vetiver, and coco butter.
The Topnotch Spa (Stowe, VT): For Valentine’s week, Topnotch Spa is offering a special couples massage that comes with a Vermont Flannel Cuddle blanket. Couples can enjoy a spacious spa suite with a fireplace, relaxing chairs, and side-by-side massage tables. Clients have a choice of a 50-minute Swedish or Aroma Mountain massage with an option to upgrade to a deep-tissue massage and add champagne and strawberries to the spa experience. The Valentines Week Couples massage is $340, inclusive of tax and gratuity.
The Spa at Carillon Miami Wellness Resort: Miami's popular wellness destination is pulling out all the stops for Valentine's Day 2018. Most notably, the Couple's Resplendent Spa Day ($1,800 per couple) features an 80-minute couples massage, a 50-minute facial, a skin softening body polish, plus a classic manicure and pedicure. The couple's treatment room comes stocked with two dozen roses, a bottle of Champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and monogrammed robes for keepsake. Another impressive offering from the spa is the Couple's Salsa lessons ($1010 for a 10 pack of five lessons per person). Two instructors will teach couples sultry Latin movements in 10 individual, private lessons.
The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC: This Valentine's Day, The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Washington DC is offering guests a Rendezvous for Two and a Night Spa Experience. The Rendezvous for Two ($350 per couple, 50 min; $550 per couple, 80 min), available through Feb 19, features an in-room foot scrub, full body massage, and two glasses of wine. The Night Spa Experience features two monogrammed robes waiting in personalized lockers, a bouquet of flowers (client's choice of 12 long-stemmed roses), two 80-minute massages, exclusive use of the hotel pool level between 10:30 pm and 1:30 am, a personalized Michale Mina dining experience featuring a bottle of house champagne or wine.
One Ocean Resort & Spa (Jacksonville, FL): The oceanfront retreat is fostering beachfront bonding with a Romancing the Stone Couples Massage & Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bliss Deluxe Couple's Pedicure ($550 per couple). The session provides 50 minutes of connection during a warm stone massage, accentuated by aromatic oils, followed by a calming pedicure with a sweet cream sea salt exfoliation. Feet are enveloped in warm dark chocolate softening mask and wrapped in warm butter whole milk brûlée, nourishing the skin with antioxidant-rich CoQ10 enzymes. Providing indulgent hydration, a massage of whipped shea butter and live strawberry fruit cell follows. Throughout the service clients can indulge with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. Finished with a polish application of choice.
Spa at JW Chicago: With the Couples Escape, guests are able to share the experience of a massage with a loved one, galantine, or friend in one of the Spa’s suites especially designed for two. The massage therapists will guide the couple’s spa journey customizing a relaxing and healing experience. For a longer service, guests can try the Couples Journey, where they can enjoy 105 minutes of relaxation with a loved one. Featuring a gentle exfoliating full body scrub followed by a cozy soak in an infinity tub perfect for two, couples will also relax together during side-by-side massages tailored to specific needs using ultra hydrating body butter to leave skin soft and hydrated.
