Sorate is a U.S.-based matcha and green tea company that just launched in the U.S. Founded by Italian-born, New York-based entrepreneur Silvia Mella, Sorate’s mission is to provide people with the best nutritional benefits from Western and Eastern medicinal practices, by bridging the plant-based medicine of Japanese green tea with today’s modern world. Mella is here with a Matcha Face Mask recipe that can help leave skin looking and feeling refreshed.
Matcha Face Mask Recipe:
The beauty of homemade face masks and remedies is that you can customize the ingredients to your skin type and preferences. This face mask is particularly good for combination skin, with occasional hormonal breakouts. This three-ingredient face mask is very simple to make and can be made in advance and stored for future use as all ingredients are shelf stable. To create a perfect consistency and additional benefits, raw honey is used as the base to mix Matcha into for this mask. This results in a smooth, nourishing and moisturizing face mask that should be used once a week on the skin.
1 teaspoon of Sorate House Matcha
2-3 drops of water until creates a paste
1/2 teaspoon of raw honey
Leave on the face until dry and remove carefully with a warm wet towel.
Benefits of matcha and honey for the skin:
- The raw honey alone improves skin hydration, protects against harmful bacteria and supports the skin's natural acid mantle balance.
- Matcha gently exfoliates and removes dead skin from the face and neck, making it easier for your pores to function properly. It also helps skin become more firm and plump by shrinking pores and thereby reducing wrinkling and unwanted oiliness. Because matcha contains chlorophyll, which is a natural anti-bacterial, not only does it help remove excess oils from your skin, it also helps eliminate the bacteria, which cause bacterial acne.
The caffeine and tannins in matcha can help reduce puffy eyes and dark circles, giving you a refreshed look, even if you didn’t get a great night's sleep.
