Get Your Dream Job Thanks to ISPA and the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation

The International Spa Association (ISPA) has partnered with the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation to launch the Get Your Dream Job campaign. The campaign was announced at the annual ISPA Conference & Expo held recently at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and already has the support of 10 partner organizations.

The two groups have joined forces to initiate a nationwide call to action by both celebrating and elevating careers within the spa industry. The “Get Your Dream Job” initiative will be promoted by spas, salons, clubs, and schools across the country to build awareness of career opportunities within the wellness sector.

“ISPA is honored to launch the ‘Get Your Dream Job’ campaign with the Beauty Changes Life Foundation,” says Lynne McNees, ISPA President. “With the spa industry’s continual growth, careers in the business offer stability and opportunity. This campaign will spread the message about the benefits of working in spas, salons and clubs to attract job seekers looking for promising careers.”

The partnership comes at a time when the wellness industry seems to be on the rise. The 2017 ISPA U.S. Spa Industry Study reported that there are nearly 33,000 vacant positions for service providers within the wellness industry. The same study reported a steady growth in number of spa visits, overall revenue, locations, and revenue per visit. Additionally, ISPA recently announced that the ISPA Foundation is launching its first industry research-driven study aimed at analyzing the recruitment, retention, and engagement of professionals within the spa, salon, and club sectors. Results from the study will be available within the first quarter of 2018 and will provide valuable insights to campaign participants.

“Spa professionals represent the convergence of beauty and wellness services as they apply their skills and knowledge to help individuals look and feel better,” says Lynelle Lynch, president of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation. “This partnership with ISPA raises awareness of the diverse and rewarding career paths open to licensed beauty and wellness professionals.”

Campaign participants will receive a tool kit with a number of resources, including an online platform for schools to download posters, flyers, and ISPA grant applications; resources to support local market publicity, including press releases; graphics for use on social media; customizable marketing templates for schools to use for admissions; and more.

Partner organizations supporting the Get Your Dream Job campaign include the American Association of Cosmetology Schools; Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals; Associated Hair Professionals; Associated Nail Professionals; Associated Skin Care Professionals; Club Fitness and Spa Association; Club Managers Association of America; Green Spa Network; International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association; and the Professional Beauty Association.
