Horst M. Rechelbacher Foundation Announces Green Circle Salon Certificate Scholarship

The Horst M. Rechelbacher Foundation is continuing its legacy of sustainability and commitment to future generations of beauty and wellness professionals with the introduction of the Green Circle Salon Certificate scholarship award for salon and spa owners. This is the latest addition to the many scholarships offered by the foundation and is just one of many hosted by Beauty Changes Lives, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering future industry professionals through mentorship and scholarships.

“I grew up in spas and salons and saw firsthand all of the possibilities, rewards, and joy this industry sparks,” says Nicole Rechelbacher, CEO of Intelligent Nutrients and daughter of Horst Rechelbacher. “Beauty Changes Lives’s work to elevate perceptions of this amazing industry complements our Foundation’s desire to give back in a meaningful way to the next generation of beauty leaders.”

In order to qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be a licensed business owner of a salon or a spa and must submit a three to five-minute video describing why environmental sustainability is important to them, describing one step that they have taken to decrease waste, and what passions they have in common with Horst Rechelbacher, a man often regarded as the father of natural skincare. Three Green Circle Salon Certificate awards of $500, which go towards covering Green Circle Salon sign-up fees, will be granted.

“Horst’s career showed the world how beauty, wellness, and the environment are linked together in a perpetuating cycle that can achieve so much good,” says Lynelle Lynch, president of Beauty Changes Lives. “We are privileged to continue his legacy through these generous scholarships.”

Green Circle Salons (GCS) was established in 2009 in order to serve the salon industry by helping it reduce its environmental footprint and provide customers with green options at the salon. GCS has since formed a network of 3,200 member salons across North America.

Applications for the Green Circle Salons certificate will be accepted between March 1 and May 31, 2020. To apply, click here
