Hutchinson Consulting has partnered with medical physician Mark Hyman, M.D. as part of a program to support functional and integrative medicine facilities and professionals. Hyman will work to help source and refer facilities who need certified functional and integrative medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, and other allied health professionals. The functional and integrative medicine model is a patient-centered approach that takes all aspects of a person into account, including lifestyle. The information is then used to identify the root causes of the illness such as poor nutrition, stress, toxins, allergens, genetics, and the microbiome. After this is identified, a healthy living plan is created to address the aspects of life, from physical needs, like nutrition, exercise, and sleep, to mental and emotional stressors such as social, work, and community life. “I am incredibly passionate about functional medicine and its power to be life-changing in the health and wellbeing of patients,” says Hyman. “I believe that we can start a wellness revolution by making sure that more people are exposed to the benefits of functional and integrative medicine and by making sure that top facilities have the most qualified candidates to help lead this charge.
