OPI Sets Guinness World Record for Longest Nail Bar

OPI nail brand has a new achievement to add to their growing list of accomplishments – it’s now a world record breaker. On Saturday, October 21, the popular salon nail brand set a Guinness World Record for the world’s longest manicure bar. The event took place in Santa Monica, CA, from 9 am to 5 pm, and all who attended were treated to a free OPI GelColor manicure to help OPI make history.

"It was a very exciting moment for OPI to achieve a Guinness World Record for Longest Manicure Bar,” says OPI cofounder and brand ambassador Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. “To see so many nail technicians and so many OPI fans come together to do something as grand and fun as setting a world record was a real treat!"

To achieve the goal, OPI created a 155-foot-long manicure bar that ran along Santa Monica’s well known Third Street Promenade shopping area. More than 50 nail technicians sat along the bar to give attendees GelColor manicures with OPI's newly launched innovation, ProHealth Top and Base Coat. The new ProHealth Base and Top Coat allow for gel manicures that can be removed scrape-free in as little as seven minutes with no damage to the nail, creating healthier looking nails during wear and even after removal.

A number of celebrities and influencers attended the celebration, including new OPI brand ambassador and celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik, who was available for meet and greet sessions alongside actress Peyton List. The event featured music, a step and repeat photo backdrop, a selfie-station, a lounge, OPI treats and more.

The record was officially set and declared at 5pm that evening, with more than 500 manicures completed that day.
