PBA Hosts Successful 2019 Distributor Executive Conference

For its eighth year in a row, the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) recently hosted another successful Distributor Executive Conference. The event took place April 17, at the Hyatt Regency in Deerfield, IL, and brought together distributors from across the country.

Created as an educational platform, the event focused on supplying distributors with the necessary tools for success, growth, and development to thrive in the constantly changing beauty industry. This year’s speakers included Mark Dancer, author on channel innovation and digital transformation; Jason Bader, principal of The Distribution Team, a firm that specializes in helping distributers through strategic planning; and Cynthia Baker, social media strategist.

Developed by distributors, this year’s conference offered a space where distributors could connect, network, and get educated through multiple panel discussions. The panels covered various topics such as inventory turns and customer service, selling through social media, and finding virtual opportunities to succeed.

PBA is considered one of the largest trade organizations representing the beauty industry. It was formed through the merger of Beauty and Barber Supply Institute (BBSI), American Beauty Association (ABA), The Salon Association (TSA), and the National Cosmetology Association (NCA). Members of the association include manufacturers, distributors, salons, spas, schools, independent practitioner, students, and industry suppliers.

PBA's next event is the PBA Executive Summit, taking place November 20-21 at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia (AZ). More information on events and membership is available at www.probeauty.org.
