Performance Health—the makers of Bon Vital, Biofreeze, Prossage, TheraBrand, Cramer, and TheraPearl health and wellness products—has awarded its annual Performance Health FSMTA Humanitarian Award to licensed massage therapist Randy Brown. Presented at the Florida State Massage Therapy Association (FSMTA) National Convention and Trade Show, the award honors individuals in the massage therapy industry for their efforts in improving the welfare of clients and demonstration devotion to clients and the craft.

“It was truly a pleasure to present this year’s Humanitarian Award to yet another amazing humanitarian, Randy Brown,” says Lynda Solien-Wolfe, vice president massage and spa, Performance Health. “A true humanitarian cares about people they don't even know and are the first to volunteer their time to help others, without asking for anything in return. They are someone who contributes positively to the human race through their caring nature. Simply put, a humanitarian makes other people's lives better. Randy embodies these qualities and many more.”

Brown, who graduated from the Florida School of Massage Therapy (Gainsville, FL), has served on the FSMTA Board and is currently the president of the North Central Florida chapter. He volunteers on church missions in Colombia where he ministers through massage techniques and active isolated stretching. He also works with the non-profit foundation Never Say Never, which works with paraplegic athletes and amputees to enhance their performance.

“I am very humbled and honored to receive such a prestigious award,” says Randy Brown. “My prayer is to be able to continue to give back through the gift that my Heavenly Father has given me through the touch of my hands.”

In addition to honoring Brown at the convention, which is now in its 14th year, Performance Health is donating $500 to the Never Say Never Foundation and $500 to Ocala United student ministry in his name.

“It is a privilege to work with Performance Health to recognize this year’s Humanitarian Award winner, Randy Brown,” says Joyce Prahasky, FSMTA executive president and CEO. “Randy truly exemplifies the spirit of giving and volunteering. There are very few people who give so much of their time, energy, and money to make such a powerful impact on those less fortunate. I am so proud to have him on my team and in our organization.”
