The Zenoti Foundation Launches Shelter Days

The Zenoti Foundation, the non-profit organization of Zenoti, the cloud platform for the beauty, wellness, and fitness industry, has launched its national shelter day series to provide salon services to local shelters. It partnered with the Gene Juarez Academy and the Jubilee Women’s Center for its first event in Seattle at the the Gene Juarez South Academy. More than 20 shelter residents and staff selected from a menu of the academy’s most popular haircuts and nail services, and services were performed by the academy cosmetology students under the supervision of their licensed educators. “We believe there is greatness in every single person, but for that greatness to be expressed the person needs to feel good,” says Sudheer Koneru, CEO and cofounder of Zenoti. “Even a simple thing like a haircut can help someone become more confident and go that much further in achieving what they want in life. This is our small way of making a difference to those in need.”

The series was inspired by the foundations partnership with UK-based Haircuts 4 Homeless, who have provided more than 40,000 haircuts for people in need. The shelter days series launched in support of the homeless and terminally ill and in collaboration with Zenoti salon, barbershop, and charity partners they will roll out nationally with more than 15 community outreach events in cities such as Portland, Los Angeles, Austin, Philadelphia, and New York City. Other collaborators include The Beauty Bus Foundation, Snip-its, Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology, Bird’s Barbershop, Boardroom Salon, Parker’s Barbershop, and more. “We are excited to partner with the Zenoti Foundation and Gene Juarez Academy to offer salon services to the women living at Jubilee," says Kari Whitacre, executive director of Jubilee Women’s Center. "The collaboration provides an opportunity for Zenoti, Gene Juarez Academy students and the Jubilee Program Participants to learn from each other. Looking good and feeling good go hand and hand, we are grateful to the students and the academy for hosting Jubilee at this special event and to the Zenoti Foundation for sponsoring.”

The Zenoti Foundation has also dedicated $500,000 in 2021 to scholarships for the next generation of beauty, wellness, and fitness practitioners along with their shelter days.
