The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) Illinois Chapter has awarded industry veteran Cassandra Stratton, massage director for Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas (multiple locations), the 2018 Meritorious Award. The award, which honors individuals who demonstrate diligence in altruistic volunteering, is the highest accolade awarded to an AMTA member by a chapter.
A licensed massage therapist since 1999, Stratton serves as the government relations committee chair for AMTA Illinois, where she acts as the liaison between state regulators, legislators, and Illinois massage professionals. In 2013, she became a board-approved continuing education provider by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). “It is my passion to build strong professional relationships with massage educators and students to support, inspire, and bridge the gap between education and career,” says Stratton.
Stratton is also the founder of the Massage Professional Network (MPN), an informal yet professional assembly of therapists, educators and vendors that gather quarterly to build strong networks and strong communities. In her current role at Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas, she oversees a team of 90 massage therapists with a focus in spa modality, customer services, and staff development.
