Esalen Institute and Radiance Sutras Debut Online Meditation Course

The Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA, which has taught the practice to more than 50,000 people, has now revealed a brand-new online teacher training and certification course in meditation. The online and interactive 20-week course involves 200 hours of training and is available to anyone interested, from stressed CEOs to aspiring meditation teachers. “A key part of Esalen’s mission is to provide pioneering initiatives that offer personal, spiritual and social transformation,” says Douglas Drummond, director of Esalen Healing Arts and Somatics. “Our legacy behooves us to take advantage of changing technology to put healing modalities in the palm of the hand of curious, compassionate wellness seekers and practitioners who are interested in ways to learn a new practice or deepen their current practice in order to help their communities at this unprecedented time. If not now, when?”

Led by meditation experts Lorin Roche, PhD, and Camille Maurine, the course will teach participants how to customize meditation for individuals and groups, adjust their meditation practice to meet different situations in life, handle intense emotions, sensations, and other challenges, find balance and healing, and make meditation accessible to others, among a number of other related skills. The training is comprised of live Zoom classes, group practice sessions, Zoom office hours, prerecorded audio meditations, and three textbooks: Meditation Made Easy and The Radiance Sutras by Roche and Meditation Secrets for Women by Maurine. Each participant will also engage in personalized interactions with the instructors and be able to receive immediate answers from their private discussion groups. Students who complete the course will gain certification through the Radiance Sutras School of Meditation, and certification through Yoga Alliance is possible as well.

The course runs from Jan. 29–June 19. For more information or to enroll, visit the website here
