MindBody Platform Acquires Booker Software

MindBody, a software provider for wellness companies, has announced its acquisition of Booker Software, a cloud-based management platform for spas and salons and the provider of Frederick, an automated marketing software for wellness businesses. The announcement comes just a month after MindBody announced its acquisition of the FitMetrix software system.

“MindBody and Booker power the local businesses that help tens of millions of people lead healthier, happier lives,” says Rick Stollmeyer, MindBody CEO and co-founder. “By combining our technology and teams, we will help our customers grow by connecting them to even larger consumer audiences. Our intention is to rapidly expand our wellness and beauty platform by delivering more value to customers, consumers and partners alike.”

The acquisition of Booker will add roughly 10,000 spas and salons to the MindBody marketplace. The merger will combine MindBody’s leadership in boutique fitness studios and large consumer network with Booker’s leadership among high-value spas and salons.

"Mindbody and Booker have long shared a common purpose: delivering a platform that empowers wellness and beauty professionals to run and grow their businesses," says Josh McCarter, Booker CEO. "By joining forces, we can deliver the game-changing technologies the wellness industry has been waiting for and accelerate growth for our customers."

MindBody will acquire Booker Software for approximately $150 million in cash within the second quarter of 2018. Upon closing, additional financial information will be released when MindBody reports its first quarter results.
