Kristi Konieczny, founder of The Spa Buzz, has launched W.A.V.E., a new fitness and wellness immersion experience. W.A.V.E, or, the Wild Atlantic Vitality Experience, will showcase the best of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, one of the world’s longest continuous coastal touring routes, situated on the west coast of Ireland. Konieczny worked in tandem with Irish native David Sisk to show how retreats can be done in a new and unique way. “David and I created the W.A.V.E. to expand our reach in our respective fields and show how much we love what we do,” Konieczny says. “We wanted to create dynamic experiential retreats that emphasize a wellness lifestyle and a bit of adventure too.”
The program currently offers three retreats, each of which will tour locations like Castle Murray, County Donegal, the Cliffs of Moher, County Clare, and Gweedore. The first retreat took place from June 24-28.The next retreats are slated to take place Aug. 27 to Sept. 3 and Sept. 21 to 25. More retreats are being planned for 2018.
The retreats are designed to emphasize participant’s health and well being in remote, breathtaking locations. “I wanted to show fitness and wellness retreats could be done in a different way,” says Sisk. “I wanted to show the Wild Atlantic Way in a different way. I wanted to bring people forward by bringing them back to peace; back to personal strength. You cannot avoid the change that takes place, in this truly magical place, at the edge of the world where the ocean meets the land without compromise. The air blasts through your bones on the Wild Atlantic Way, rejuvenating your cells and re-awakening your soul.”
